I have been in public education for 32 years and worked as a teacher, administrator, and social worker in Wicomico County. I also have 2 adult children on the Autism Spectrum and have been in countless meetings on both the school side and the parent side. I have grown to recognize the need for families to be provided with the best possible resources, both from the school and the medical community.
One of my goals as President of LSAC is for the organization to be an advocate for our families with members on the spectrum. As many of us who work a full day and take care of our special needs children know, it is often difficult to be up to date with the vast amounts of information out there regarding Special Education & IEP.
