I have been in nonprofit work for 38 years at the local, regional, and national level, doing administration, accounting, finance, office management, personnel, and technical support tasks. I served in the army for 3 years in the early 1980’s and was honorably discharged. I come from a military family where in my immediate family, my father and and older brother are U.S. Air Force Veterans, and my younger brother is a U.S. Navy Veteran.
My wife Maggie (a retired schoolteacher with more than 38 years of teaching and a Salisbury University graduate) and I moved to Wicomico County in 2017 with our 2 long-haired dachshunds, Oscar Mayer and Weenie. We have 2 adult children: one lives in California and one here in Maryland. I grew up mostly in Texas and New Mexico where I attended and graduated high school and college.
I was asked to serve as a member of the Board of Directors/Treasurer/Resident Agent by a couple of member on the board and through contact from the Richard H. Henson Foundation, one of our funders.I find that the work the organization is doing and trying to do is very worthwhile and I have nonprofit management, administration, and fundraising skills that I hope will help us grow.
