No, I Know Podcast – Episode 103 Fearlessly Different

Mickey Rowe, the first autistic actor to play the autistic lead character in the Tony Award- winning “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, knows these statistics all too well. He also knows what it takes to overcome the odds and land a part. Mickey chronicles this journey to stardom in his memoir FEARLESSLY DIFFERENT: An Autistic Actor’s Journey to Broadway’s Biggest Stage, which released just ahead of Autism Awareness Month.  Mickey recasts the definition of abled body and mind as he takes readers on a narrative journey that begins with his struggles as a legally blind, autistic child. Even as he was shunned by his mother, bullied by his brothers, and relegated backstage by teachers and classmates, Mickey learned to embrace his differences when others recoiled from them. Now hailed as a trailblazer and inspiration. All Music and Lyrics by James Harrell and Ilyana Kadushin. This episode brought to you by: Lower Shore Autism Community.
