I was born and raised in Wicomico County. I have work in the school system in public education for 5 years as a one on one in the self-contained classroom setting. I have my BA in Early Childhood from UMES and am currently obtaining my master’s degree through Wilmington University for Special Education K-6th grade.
Before going into the school system, I worked in childcare for 16 years as a lead classroom teacher, Home Health Aid for five years, and am currently working as a Direct Support Service Provider through The Arc of Maryland. Throughout the years in and out of the classroom, I have always worked with children and young adults that were diagnosed with Autism. I have a personal connection to strive to better help this community and people by joining the LSAC board as part of the Events Committee to aid in creating more inclusive activities and allow more awareness of the needs in our county.
Over the years, I have worked at camps that service children of all abilities deaf, deaf/blind, CP, Autism, learning disabilities, blind. I know ASL, taking courses throughout my college education and during my own time. I have a passion for working with children and helping shape them into the best version of themselves through sharing moments of personal experience to help children know they are able to do anything they put their mind to so they can be successful.
