My name is Katy and I’ve been a career special education teacher who started as a resource teacher at Prince Street Elementary in Wicomico County. For the past nineteen years I’ve worked as an Autism Instructional Specialist for Wicomico County Public Schools. In that role, I worked with teachers, administrators, therapists and staff to help meet the needs of autistic students ages prekindergarten to 21. The students always kept me thinking of ways to help meet their sensory and communication needs by providing accommodations and using strategies that were reflected in their IEP’s. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to continue working with students and their families by providing outreach and spreading the message of the LSAC!!
